ABAKUÁ New York City Performance, June 19-21

In a much anticipated return, ABAKUÁ Afro-Latin Dance Company will begin its weekend run of performances in New York City next week.

From June 19th, 2008 – June 21st, 2008 at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center
(http://www.tribecapac.org), audiences will have a chance to sample the latest body of work from celebrated Artistic Director and noted performer, Mr. Frankie Martinez.

The performance series will serve as the US premiere of the bold new performance piece entitled “Island Fever”, which has already been well received abroad. Other pieces scheduled for performance include “Stills”, “Children of the Groove”, “Raices” and “After-Hour Funk”.

Next Evening With ABAKUÁ, Friday, June 12th
Were back this Friday night at another ABAKUÁ jam! This party will be a chance to celebrate with ABAKUÁ before their weekend performance run. Whether this is your first time out or you a veteran dancer, you will find music you like and people to groove with this Friday night!
